Ghost in the Climate

‘Ghost in the Climate’ is a new video work and a solo exhibition by Anna Mikkola. The video brings together the ghosts of the past, present and yet to come in the form of clouds – uncertain elements within the climate.

Anna Mikkola is a London based artist mainly working with video and installation depicting scenarios that move between fiction and reality. Her work weaves together multiple perspectives and points in time reflecting how futures are constructed. She explores how technological developments alter individual boundaries and collectivity within human and more-than-human systems, as well as people’s relation to the environment. Mikkola’s work has been shown internationally, including at the ICA Institute of Contemporary Arts, Somerset House, SPACE, Jupiter Woods (all London), Sonic Acts (Amsterdam), INDEX 19 (Stockholm) and SIC (Helsinki). Mikkola is currently an Associate Lecturer at Central Saint Martins, and a resident at the Somerset House Studios in London.

The exhibition is accompanied by a newly commissioned text written by Bianca Stoppani.

The exhibition is developed with the generous support of FRAME Finland.
